Students never forget these unique overnight programs. NightCrawlers feature themed activities, behind-the-scenes experiences and up-close encounters with animals. Sleep in climate-controlled facilities, enjoy a continental breakfast and take a guided tour of Zoo Atlanta.

Dates: Tuesday-Saturday, year-round
Times/duration: 6 pm-10:30 am the next day
Reservations/payment: must be made 6 weeks in advance;
Fee: $55 per participant; 1 chaperone per 10 students Free, additional chaperones $55

  • Minimum group size for NightCrawler programs is 10.
  • NightCrawler participants must be at least 6 years old.
  • Membership discounts do not apply to group NightCrawler programs;

  • All programs come with grade-specific activities to use at the Zoo and before and after your visit.

Animals in Motion

1st-2nd grade

Which animals fly? Who starts out as a tadpole? What are the basic needs of all animals? Set "animals in motion" through fun games and activities.

Panda Pals

1st-2nd grade

Through the use of biofacts and arts & crafts you and your students will learn all about one of Atlanta's newest and coolest residents - Mei Lan the panda cub! 

Panda Connections 3rd - 5th grade

Discover China's national treasure the giant panda! You and your students will learn all about the panda’s unique habitat, adaptations, and favorite foods.

Backyard Georgia

3rd-4th grade

Students venture through the regions of Georgia and learn how to keep our state clean and beautiful.

Zoo Tech

3rd - 5th grade

Rediscover Zoo Atlanta with the help of technology! Students use high-powered microscopes, night vision scopes and other technologies to explore the exciting life all around us.

Zoo Nights and Dino Days

3rd - 5th grade Explore two of Atlanta's top attractions in one great fiedl trip - Zoo Atlanta and Fernbank Museum of Natural History! Register here

Global Grasslands

5th-6th grade

Through dramatic play, students experience the interactions between predators and prey in Africa and touch biofacts such as skulls and bones.

Animal Trackers
5th-6th grade Students use technologically advanced research tools, just like real scientists, to learn about habitats and animals.
Biodiversity Explorers
7th-9th grade Uncover why biodiversity is so important with your students by managing a giraffe herd as humans and the environment influence their life.

Careers and Conservation

10th-12th grade

Explore the career opportunities found within the walls of Zoo Atlanta and other environmental institutions while enjoying behind the scenes fun!
