Guides lead your group and share fun facts and stories about our animals. A Zoo Tour is a good way to navigate the Zoo in a limited time period, and a Behind-the-Scenes Tour gives students a fun, exclusive educational experience.

  • Minimum group size for all Zoo School programs is 10.
  • One chaperone per 10 students required and admitted for free; additional chaperones pay student price. Membership discounts do not apply to Zoo School programs.
  • To reserve Zoo School programs tax-free, a tax-exempt form must be submitted at the time of reservation.
  • All programs come with grade-specific activities to use at the Zoo and before and after your visit.

Dates: available daily year-round
Time/duration: select a start time from 9:30am-3:30 pm; tour lasts 90 minutes
Reservations/payment: must be made 6 weeks in advance
Fee: $12; price includes zoo admission

Behind-the-Scenes Tour: Animal Nutrition Kitchen & Zoo Tour

Discover what Zoo animals eat! Learn how we prepare animal diets and see some of the unusual treats our animals enjoy that you might like too!

Dates: available daily year-round
Time/duration: select a start time from 9:30am-3:30 pm; tour lasts 90 minutes and includes a one hour Zoo Tour and 30 minutes behind-the-scenes in the Zoo's kitchen.
Reservations/payment: must be made 6 weeks in advance
Fee: $18; price includes zoo admission
