More than just a party: The Beastly Feast
Tuesday, April 9, 2013
The Beastly Feast is one of the Southeast’s most anticipated black-tie galas, but the impact of the evening continues far beyond one glittering night in the Zoo at its most beautiful. The event is the single most important fundraiser of the year for Zoo Atlanta, as well as the most critical. Its patrons provide crucial operating support for animal stewardship, conservation and education programs that could never thrive without a successful Beastly Feast.
The Beastly Feast has an amazing history of corporate and community support, in many years generating more than $1 million for mission-dependent operations at the Zoo. The Ford Motor Company Fund returns this year as the event’s Presenting Sponsor, marking Ford’s 28th year of generous support.
The 2013 theme, Swing Fling, is a timely celebration of the legacy of the Zoo’s nationally-renowned primate collections. This year, we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the day the late Willie B. took his first steps into a naturalistic habitat after more than 25 years in a solitary indoor enclosure. A supporter of Zoo Atlanta since prior to the opening of The Ford African Rain Forest, Ford Motor Company was a seminal partner in the creation of this world-class habitat and has a long connection with the story of Willie B.
The support of Beastly Feast guests is rewarded with the year’s most spectacular party, and 2013 will be no exception. Guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on a twilight stroll of the Zoo, a seated dinner and dancing in the Ford Pavilion, once again splendidly themed with the talents of Tony Brewer & Company. The event’s famous Silent Auction will also return with an impressive selection of jewels, home décor, travel and cultural opportunities and exclusive Zoo experiences.
Event Co-Chairs are Bob Webb of Troutman Sanders LLP and his wife, Judy Webb. Members of the Beastly Feast Executive Committee include Zoo Atlanta Board of Directors member Mark Street of Ford Motor Company; Décor Chair Tony Brewer; Raymond King, President and CEO of Zoo Atlanta; and Auction Committee member Robin King.
The 2013 Beastly Feast is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m. Learn more about the evening here, or call 404.624.5836 to inquire about tickets or tables.
