Call for Artists for “Art Gone Wild” at Zoo Atlanta
Wednesday, March 12, 2014
Apply by March 31 for consideration for the Zoo’s first plein air event
Zoo Atlanta has issued an official call for artists for Art Gone Wild, a showcase of the animals, botanicals and scenery of the Zoo through the eyes of local talents. Interested artists are invited to apply to participate in the event, which will run from June 2 through June 6, 2014.
Art Gone Wild will highlight the art of plein air, or painting outdoors. Participating artists will be selected by a committee of Zoo Atlanta Board of Directors members, Zoo staff and representatives from the Atlanta art community. Invited artists will spend five days capturing aspects of Zoo wildlife and horticulture, with the week culminating in an art show and silent auction on June 14. Proceeds will benefit the Zoo’s award-winning conservation and education programs.
Artists should apply by March 31, 2014, to be considered. Artist selection will take place April 15, 2014. Visit zooatlanta.org to download an application, or request an application via email at email@example.com.
