Identifies Executive Search Firm for New President and CEO

After an extensive interview process, Parker Executive Search has been selected by the Executive Search Committee of the Zoo Atlanta Board of Directors. Parker Executive Search will be responsible for leading a national search for the Zoo’s new President and CEO. Parker Executive Search, an Atlanta-based firm specializing in global searches for corporations, academia and athletics, will provide its services to the Zoo pro-bono. The executive search team will be led by Rodes Cole and Dan Parker.

An executive search will began immediately for the leadership role recently vacated by Dennis Kelly, who left Zoo Atlanta on January 31, 2010, to accept a position as Director of Smithsonian’s National Zoo. The Zoo will be managed by the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team until the new President and CEO is hired.

“The Board of Directors is dedicated to finding a leader who will continue to build on Zoo Atlanta’s success and reputation as a world-class zoological organization; the ideal candidate will bring a multidimensional leadership skill set to a job that requires a commitment to the Zoo’s mission, programs and strategic vision,” said Board of Directors member and Co-Chair of the Search Committee Nancy Rafuse, Managing Partner, Ashe, Rafuse & Hill, LLP. “We look forward to working with Parker Executive Search on this exciting opportunity as they assist the Zoo in our search for our next President and CEO, which we all agree is a very important job.”
