Zoo Atlanta celebrates Earth Day with Party for the Planet and Plant Sale
Green’s the word on Saturday, April 24
Zoo Atlanta hosts a wild, green bash for that poster planet for wildlife preservation and resource conservation – Earth! Guests are invited to recycle, reuse and re-imagine their view of our world with fun family activities at Party for the Planet on Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free to Zoo Atlanta Members and children under 3; free with general admission. Visitors who bring old or unused cell phones for recycling during Party for the Planet will enjoy $3 off general admission for up to four guests.
Highlights for kids will include a fossil craft; an earthworm dig; meet-and-greet with Wild Thing from Where the Wild Things Are; and more. Kids and adults alike will be impressed by an extensive lineup of special exhibits and interactive displays from Earth-friendly organizations throughout Georgia.
Heads up to green thumbs: also on Saturday, April 24, the Zoo presents the annual Plant Sale hosted by the Guild of Zoo Atlanta, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Conservation Education Gate (C-5 entrance). Visitors can browse a selection of native and low-maintenance species; support local growers; and get landscape design tips from Zoo Horticulturists. Zoo admission is not required.
