New single-ticket plan combines the advantages of season football tickets and Zoo Membership
ATLANTA – April 23, 2014 – The Georgia State Athletics Department and Zoo Atlanta have announced a new partnership that will give Atlanta residents year-round family-friendly opportunities to enjoy college football from one of Atlanta’s own home teams while taking advantage of close encounters with wildlife in the home of nearly 1,400 animals from around the world.
A special Georgia State/Zoo Atlanta single-ticket plan will offer ticketholders a Zoo Atlanta Family Membership and season tickets to Georgia State Panthers football games during the 2014 season. The season tickets will be valid for four people and are located in the Family Zone (section 121 or 122), and the Zoo Membership is valid for two adults and up to four children.
“We are delighted about this mutually beneficial partnership that provides an affordable option for families to enjoy both Zoo Atlanta and Georgia State football,” said Georgia State Director of Athletics Cheryl Levick. “We invite Georgia State alumni, fans and Atlanta families to join with us at football games and Zoo Atlanta in what we hope to be a long-standing, family friendly partnership.”
Valid for a full year, Zoo Atlanta Membership offers unlimited daytime Zoo admission; 10 percent off admission for accompanying guests; discounts on select ticketed Zoo events; invitations to exclusive Members-only events; discounted family programs, Safari Day Camps and Zoo birthday parties; discounts on rides wristbands and gift shop and concessions purchases; and reciprocal discounts at participating zoos and aquariums nationwide. The new Georgia State/Zoo Atlanta ticket is available for $232.
“We’re thrilled about being able to offer Atlanta families a new way to take advantage of the benefits of two of the organizations that make our city great,” said Raymond B. King, President and CEO of Zoo Atlanta. “Both the Panthers and the Zoo are important reasons for civic pride, and we want all Atlantans to have an opportunity to enjoy these experiences conveniently and affordably.”
The Panthers play home games at the Georgia Dome, located in downtown Atlanta. The Dome is 2.9 miles from Zoo Atlanta, which is located in historic Grant Park.
