Join Zoo Atlanta for a wild, green bash for that poster planet for wildlife preservation and resource conservation – Earth! Recycle, reuse and re-imagine your view of our world with fun family activities, crafts and special exhibits.

Make your own fossils. Kids use recycled coffee grounds to create their own pressed “fossil” imprints to take home.
Go on an earthworm dig. Get down-and-dirty with our perennially popular activity introducing guests to the Earth-friendly process of vermicomposting.
Party with Wild Thing. Wild Thing from Where the Wild Things Are makes guest appearances with Zoo mascots. Guests enjoy fun dance tunes and games from Little Beat Music in the Birthday Party Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Browse a super lineup of green exhibitors. 2010 exhibitors include the Atlanta Audubon Shade-Grown Coffee Committee; Captain Planet Foundation; the Clean Air Campaign; Clear Communication; Georgia Department of Natural Resources Sustainability Division; Georgia Safe Route to School; Green Irene; Keeping it Wild; Larabar/Cascadian Farms; Mothers & Others for Clean Air; Sierra Club; U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary; U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 4; and the U.S. Green Building Council – Georgia Chapter.
Atlanta Falcons fullback Ovie Mughelli will make an appearance at Party for the Planet from Noon to 1 p.m. in the Ford Tent. Stop by and join him in celebrating Earth Day!
Get your beaks straight. Zoo Atlanta’s own Bird Department hosts a special activity teaching kids how different birds use their beaks.
