Saturday, April 23, 2011

Presented by Georgia Natural Gas and Downey Trees
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

So maybe you DO reuse and recycle. Maybe you DO reduce your footprint on our world. If so, the Zoo thanks you! Come increase your footprint on fun with a dynamic day of family activities celebrating a planet near and dear to all 6.7 billion of us – Earth!

  • Meet Dora and Diego from Dora the Explorer
Characters from the popular animated series appear for exclusive meet-and-greets during Party for the Planet

  • Cheer for your favorite gentle giants …
Our favorite spring tradition is back! The western lowland gorillas of The Ford African Rain Forest search for hidden Jell-O treats during the annual Gorilla Egg Hunts at 2 p.m. in Gorilla Habitat 3 and 2:30 p.m. in Gorilla Habitat 1. (Word to the wise: arrive on time!)

  • Dig into arts and crafts presented by BJ’s Wholesale …
What can YOU do with an egg carton? Turn recycled products into art. Playing in the dirt is back by popular demand with our annual Earth Day favorite, the Earthworm Dig.

  • Browse a green lineup fit for a planet …
Our super slate of green exhibitors grows every year! Don’t miss a special demonstration by Downey Trees, Inc.

  • … and learn something while you’re here!
2011 is the Year of the Turtle. Find out why with fun hands-on activities presented by Zoo Atlanta educators.
