Komodo dragons are vulnerable in the wild due to increased development on the islands of Komodo and Rinca. The Komodo’s limited distribution makes the species highly susceptible to storms, fire and disease, but the primary threats are illegal hunting and loss of habitat due to human settlement. Zoo Atlanta supports the Komodo Dragon SSP.
