On May 12 and in the devastating days following China’s catastrophic earthquake, dedicated professionals risked their lives to ensure the safety of the giant pandas of the Wolong Nature Reserve, taking heroic measures to protect the survival of one of the world’s most important populations of critically endangered giant pandas. Our colleagues at Wolong are working to repair damage sustained to the facility during the quake, and many of them do so in the face of great personal tragedy, including loss of homes and loved ones.
Help us help the heroes. Zoo Atlanta and North American zoos housing giant pandas have joined the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Giant Panda Conservation Foundation in raising aid for employees of the Wolong Nature Reserve. Your support will assist with immediate needs, purchase supplies and equipment, as well as contribute to the continuation of our giant panda conservation efforts.
Your support matters! The staffs of the Wolong Nature Reserve and Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding are Zoo Atlanta’s close colleagues, co-collaborators, friends and partners in guaranteeing the survival of giant pandas. |
